  • We personally check all original documentation that staff require for their DBS applications
  • We check all original documents to verify the candidate’s proof of right to work in the UK
  • We ensure that all of our candidates have a valid DBS in place by checking the update service or issuing a new DBS prior to them being offered work.
  • We complete first adult checks on all staff
  • We obtain work references from all candidates for the past 5 years and request a full work history.
  • On a monthly basis we check all of our nurses pins against the NMC register
  • We provide in depth staff profiles to all clients prior to shifts commencing
  • Full training is offered to staff and monitored to ensure they are always up to date
  • Uniform and ID badges are provided to all staff members
The importance of quality, training and commitment in our recruitment process means that you can rest easy knowing that your home will be getting only the best staff.

Our Recruitment process includes the following:
  • All our candidates come into our office for an in-person interview so we can meet them, and they can complete our registration pack and bring in original documents and get an idea of which homes they would fit into and their background in care.
  • All Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months paid UK experience in care, more specifically in a care home environment. So, you can rest assured when a member of staff from Everest is booked it will never be their first day in care.
  • All candidates complete an application pack which includes personal details, full employment history with any gaps explained and a CV is obtained. This also enables us to assess their written and spoken English skills.
  • We also gain their details of education, training, and any qualifications.
  • We have a night worker and a general health questionnaire, diversity monitoring form, GDPR form and an opt out of 48 hour working week agreement signed during their registration. (If they wish to)
  • Verification of their identity documents and proof of right to work documents are obtained and checked. Employer Checking Service checks are completed as needed. Proof of right to work checks are conducted on foreign nationals via a share code from the government website or an ECS Check if a share code cannot be given.
  • Enhanced + Barred DBS Checks within the Adult Workforce Sector is completed and conducted on every worker, those on the update service are asked for their original certificate and we then conduct the status check. This is then checked every month to make sure that the certificate is still valid. Otherwise, we complete a new DBS for existing candidates every 3 years at no cost to them.
  • Nurses Pin Numbers are checked with the NMC Register to confirm their status and then are rechecked again every month to make sure there have been no changes, and they are still able to work in the UK as a registered Nurse.
  • Certificates of qualifications and training are required, and we ask all our candidates to complete our free mandatory training or provide us with their own up-to-date training certificates if applicable. We also supply hands on training to our staff.
  • A minimum of two references is obtained one of which must be their most recent employer.
  • Uniform and timesheets are given to the candidate at the end of the interview, the profiles are created and sent straight to you prior to shift commencement. We provide ID and name Badges, and they are sent out after we have received back the DBS. ID Badges are updated every 3 years with a current photo which will match the profile picture. Again, all free of charge to the candidate.
  • We maintain records of our staffs COVID vaccinations.
