We have always said at Everest that it is vital to build up a rapport with candidates to be able to have a long-lasting client and agency relationship. Creating a line of communication early on in the process and meeting face to face allows each person to get to know each other and learn more about what they want  from their role and how we can provide it.

However, we thought we’d tell you why we think it is so important to get you in to our office for a chat as soon as you apply for one of our roles.

Firstly, there is a lot of documentation to get out of the way. We will need to see your proof of right to work, national insurance details, proof of address, passport photos and current DBS if you have one. Unfortunately, there are instances in the world of recruitment, especially in this industry, where people are using fake ID’s or documents to get work without the right accreditation. This article gives examples of fake documentation being sold to people looking for jobs within care. However, if we meet face to face, we can get a good idea of who you are and make sure that all of your documentation matches up with your details and get the process moving quickly to find you work.

This is important for the care homes too, as they trust Everest to ensure that the staff we provide have all the necessary background checks completed and are ready to work. We have been entrusted by our clients to ensure that everyone we provide to them is who they say they are, and they are legally ready to work in this country.

Beyond documentation, the main reason we insist on a face to face meeting is just to get to know you. This industry can offer some very rewarding but also very difficult opportunities, and we need to ensure that the service users we provide for are getting the staff that they deserve. Treating service users with respect, dignity and care is what we strive to offer, and having a conversation with all applicants mean we can very easily realise if someone is not the right fit for our roles.
